CARBON NEUTRALITY

The Matic Group has aligned its Strategic Plan for Fleet transition towards Carbon Neutrality with that of its long term partner in Volvo Trucks with the aim of having a rolling fleet that is completely fossil free by 2050.

Even when the majority of short haul low GCM vehicles are electric, we foresee use cases for internal combustion engines (ICE) running on sustainable biofuels or other fossil free fuels for both long and heavy haul applications.

On the way towards decarbonised transport, there will be legislative milestones when it comes to CO2 across the globe. We continue to invest in combustion engines and after-treatment systems in order to increase efficiency, meet the legislative milestones and stay competitive. In addition to focusing on tailpipe emissions, Matic are also working with and encouraging its suppliers and partners to introduce fossil free materials (CO2 free steel, plastics and rubber) for use within our operational fleet and facilities.
